Davis Gortner

Davis brings a thoughtful, integrative approach to his work with children, teens, and adults, specializing in support for anxiety, depression, and ADHD. He uses evidence-based approaches such as CBT and ACT, along with developmentally informed play- and art-based therapies.

His style is collaborative, creating a safe environment for clients to explore emotions and strengthen regulation skills while working closely with families to support consistency across all areas of life. Davis believes that meaningful growth happens when the whole support system is engaged in the process. He practices under the supervision of Dr. Darrell.

Professional Experience

Davis has experience providing psychotherapy to children, teens, and adults, integrating evidence-based approaches with training in EEG and neurostimulation to support clients with anxiety, ADHD, mood concerns, and emotional regulation.

He also conducts neuropsychological assessments through Downtown LA Behavioral Neurosciences, where he evaluates cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning for court-referred clients. His work as a Cognitive Assessor and Lead for the Los Angeles Superior Court has strengthened his diagnostic skills and collaboration with attorneys and neuropsychologists.

Davis also has extensive crisis intervention experience through Crisis Text Line, supporting youth and adults through acute stress and emotional dysregulation. Before entering clinical practice, he taught middle and high school students internationally and worked as an EMT, experiences that inform his calm, steady presence and deep understanding of youth development and family dynamics.

Payment

While Mighty Village does not accept insurance, we are happy to provide you with appropriate documentation and properly coded forms for you to submit to your insurance company. Cash or check are accepted for payment. Our office can put your credit card on file for a one-time or recurring fee.

Insurance Reimbursement

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

In many cases, reimbursement depends on the diagnosis. Please keep in mind that what insurance companies consider to be a percentage of reimbursement for "usual and customary" fees are not based on true charges.

All fees are payable at the time of the visit. Our office will provide a statement for your insurance company upon request. We will not directly bill your insurance company. You are responsible for all billing and collection of reimbursements from your insurance company.

Cancellation Policy

If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session as booked.
