Darrell Walters, PhD, LMFT

Dr. Darrell is a neuropsychologist with over 15 years of experience working with children, teens, and young adults. His treatment approach is informed by the latest research in neuroscience, psychological theories, and developmental perspectives. He is passionate about identifying root issues and believes healing occurs through genuine, authentic connection.

Dr. Darrell has clinical expertise in neurodevelopmental and life-adjustment challenges, including executive functioning and regulation-related issues like ADHD and Autism. Other areas of specialization include giftedness and learning disabilities, self-esteem and motivation, oppositional behaviors, tic-related issues, moodiness, anxiety and OCD.

In addition to psychotherapy, Dr. Darrell provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to help determine the cause of observed struggles and identify strengths and adaptive characteristics within your child. Dr. Darrell’s philosophy is to provide the most comprehensive and detailed report to capture a complete profile of how your child learns, thinks, processes information, and responds to his or her environment. He aims to help parents, teachers, and other professionals understand your child better. Specific recommendations within the report create a blueprint that will assist all involved to work together as a team. This kind of evaluation can be invaluable in helping your child, providing essential insights for early interventions and accommodations, and giving them the confidence, knowledge, and support necessary to thrive. Dr. Darrell strives to make the experience as enjoyable, safe, and comfortable as possible to help your child perform at their best while making it challenging and productive.

  • Payment and Insurance

    Hourly Rate: $295

Payment. While Mighty Village does not accept insurance, we are happy to provide you with appropriate documentation and properly coded forms for you to submit to your insurance company. Cash or check are accepted for payment. Our office can put your credit card on file for a one-time or recurring fee.

Insurance Reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

    • Do I have mental health benefits?
    • What is my deductible and has it been met?
    • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
    • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

In many cases, reimbursement depends on the diagnosis. Please keep in mind that what insurance companies consider to be a percentage of reimbursement for "usual and customary" fees are not based on true charges.

All fees are payable at the time of the visit. Our office will provide a statement for your insurance company upon request. We will not directly bill your insurance company. You are responsible for all billing and collection of reimbursements from your insurance company.

Cancellation Policy. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session as booked.
